YOU might think you know the sneaky signs that point to your significant other cheating, but there are at least three most people miss.

That’s according to a who has dished the dirt on the three lesser known phases of and how anyone can spot them – and it’s more obvious than you might think.

According to the pro, it’s not all sleazy late night secrets and hidden messages.

But, there are three stages anyone who is a touch suspicious should be aware of, and each has it’s own set of hints, Chris Thomas from UK Private Investigators revealed.

The pro has dealt with plenty unfaithful partner cases over the years, and noted the stages are easy to pick up on once you know what you know what to look out for.

Stage one

The first stage comes before any has taken place, but once you spot the signs they’ll be hard to ignore, Chris told The Mirror.

It’s all about a “behaviour change” the pro explained.

The guilty partner will start to act slightly unusual and have a sudden interest in new hobbies and place they’ve never mentioned before, he added.

“New hobbies are a big giveaway when they come out of nowhere, but being in new locations all of a sudden is a larger red flag.

“Visiting a new artisan bakery or coffee shop on the other end of town when it’s out of character is a good sign of this. It’s not the place, but the weirdness of the place relative to that person,” Chris explained.

Stage two

This stage is what happens during the cheating, and this is when the biggest changes in behaviour occur.

During this phase, the guilty partner will start to pick small arguments with you, according to Chris.

“If your partner has exhibited signs from stage one and they have now begun to pick fights with you, then it’s because this gives them an excuse to get away from you, maybe they go for a walk or go missing for a few hours to clear their head,” Chris notes.

By starting a fight it relieves the cheater from the guilty feeling of cheating and helps them justify their actions, he added.

Stage three

The third and final stage happens after the cheating has taken place.

This can be a confusing time after the act of cheating since the guilty partner may love bomb you or make you feel worthless.

During this time, the cheating partner could appear to be the perfect person, offering plenty of love and affection, and maybe even gifts in a bid to “undo their sins.”

Chris explained that this is done in case their cheating is uncovered, so the betrayal doesn’t seem quite so bad.

However, they could also go in the opposite direction and try to make you “feel worthless” instead.

“On the flip side, they can also try to make you feel worthless, because they are angry at you for not being that other person,” Chris explained.

“With the other person, they are in the honeymoon phase, whereas with you, it’s back to a sad, depressing reality.

“If you find this happening to you, get out of that relationship.”

Four red flags your partner is cheating

Private Investigator Aaron Bond from BondRees revealed four warning signs your partner might be cheating.

They start to take their phone everywhere with them

In close relationships, it’s normal to know each other’s passwords and use each other’s phones, if their phone habits change then they may be hiding something.

Aaron says: “If your partner starts changing their passwords, starts taking their phone everywhere with them, even around the house or they become defensive when you ask to use their phone it could be a sign of them not being faithful.”

“You should also look at how they place their phone down when not in use. If they face the phone with the screen facing down, then they could be hiding something.”

They start telling you less about their day

When partners cheat they can start to avoid you, this could be down to them feeling guilty or because it makes it easier for them to lie to you.

“If you feel like your partner has suddenly begun to avoid you and they don’t want to do things with you any more or they stop telling you about their day then this is another red flag.”

“Partners often avoid their spouses or tell them less about their day because cheating can be tough, remembering all of your lies is impossible and it’s an easy way to get caught out,” says Aaron.

Their libido changes

Your partner’s libido can change for a range of reasons so it may not be a sure sign of cheating but it can be a red flag according to Aaron.

Aaron says: “Cheaters often have less sex at home because they are cheating, but on occasions, they may also have more sex at home, this is because they feel guilty and use this increase in sex to hide their cheating. You may also find that your partner will start to introduce new things into your sex life that weren’t there before.”

They become negative towards you

Cheaters know that cheating is wrong and to them, it will feel good, this can cause tension and anxiety within themselves which they will need to justify.

“To get rid of the tension they feel inside they will try to convince themselves that you are the problem and they will become critical of you out of nowhere. Maybe you haven’t walked the dog that day, put the dishes away or read a book to your children before bedtime. A small problem like this can now feel like a big deal and if you experience this your partner could be cheating,” warns Aaron.
