And a bargain Garnier product that is cheaper than a best-selling La Roche-Posay sunscreen is attracting the attention of fans.
The French brand’s Anthelios Invisible Fluid SPF50 facial sun cream has long been a bag essential among those serious about skincare.
Packaged in its signature rectangular bottle, 50ml of the stuff will set you back around £21.
If you’re applying sunscreen as frequently as you should, particularly in the summer months, buying La Roche-Posay on repeat can get pricey.
That’s why shoppers are opting for the Garnier Ambre Solaire SPF 50+ Super UV Face Protection Fluid instead. Especially as it’s only £9.33 right now.
Both products boast lightweight, easily-absorbed formulas that offer high protection from UVA and UVB rays.
The pair of them are fragrance-free and suitable for sensitive skin – and promise not to sting the eyes like some sunscreens do.
Both loved for their invisible finish and consistency that doesn’t disrupt makeup, it’s little wonder they’re both so popular.
Taking to a Reddit thread , those familiar with both have even hailed the Garnier dupe “better” than the La Roche-Posay pick and praised its “huge difference in price”.
“It is very very similar but actually better as it dries to a more matte finish. It is less shiny,” one commenter penned.
Meanwhile a Boots customer gave the Garnier skin treat a five-star review, writing: “My absolute favourite suncream! It sinks in like a dream with no white cast. I usually use it without moisturiser first (just serum) as it is plenty moisturising enough.”
Another reviewer called it the best facial sunscreen they’d “ever used” while one more added: “This is lovely and very similar to a more expensive version. I get it when its 3 for 2 and one bottle goes a long way. I use it all year round.”
