EPA/Julien de Rosa Credit: EPAA ROYAL Ascot-winning jockey has been cleared by police to make his return to racing – officially ending a ‘five-year nightmare’.
News broke last week that former Arc de Triomphe hero Pierre-Charles Boudot had been .
His career had been on hold while police carried out a probe into the claims, before the jockey was ‘finally exonerated’ by cops.
Now he could be back in the saddle as early as next week after France Galop officially granted him his jockey licence.
And he could even make a show at , where he won the Coronation Stakes in 2019 on Watch Me and 2020’s Queen Elizabeth II Stakes aboard The Revenant.
Although the wording of his agent Herve Naggar’s post on X suggested Boudot, 33, who won the Arc in 2019 on Waldgeist, will stick to racing in France for the time being.
The message read: “@PCBOUDOT will finally get back in the saddle next week in France.
“Bravo to you for having endured these 5 years of nightmare.
“Proud to have accompanied you through this ordeal.
“The best is yet to come.”
According to paris-turf.com , Boudot only has to pass a routine medical examination before he can compete again.
He was said to be at Chantilly riding work on the Francis Graffard-trained Gilded Prize ahead of this weekend’s Prix de Diane.
The French Oaks comes just over a week after the Epsom version won by Joseph O’Brien’s Thundering On.
But it is his dad Aidan’s Diamond Necklace who is the strong 8-11 market leader.
Gilded Prize was not among the horses to make it through at Tuesday’s second forfeit stage.
