SERIAL killer Rose West sexually assaulted a young inmate behind bars.
The depraved 72-year-old is said to have groomed her for weeks before the cell attack.

“She befriended a young girl, in her 20s, and basically groomed her before the attack.
“The whole is talking about it and inmates are shocked, despite what they might have done themselves.
“It wasn’t clear if West was caught in the act of attacking her or if her victim reported her.
“But guards were on the scene pretty quickly and West was taken from her cell and put in front of a governor.
“She has barely been allowed out of her cell since.”

We told last year that West, now overweight with grey hair but still wearing distinctive thick-rimmed glasses, in a desperate bid to win friends.
The killer, who changed her name to Jennifer Jones by deed poll in 2020, is near Wakefield, West Yorks.

West is held in a special section of the prison.
Other women on the unit, designed to create a “psychologically informed environment”, can tend to chickens and can roam the manicured grounds.
They can also take part in yoga and knitting classes and attend film nights.
West has now lost privileges she enjoys as an “enhanced” prisoner.
They include extra cash to spend in the jail canteen, TV and DVD rights, access to workshops and time out of her cell.
Our source added: “She still went before a governor for an adjudication where she was found guilty.”
The Prison Service spokesperson did not comment.
