The Rivers House of Assembly has resolved to probe the state’s finances during the six-month rule of Ibok-Ete Ibas as the sole administrator.

This is as it even urged Governor Siminalayi Fubara to transmit the list of commissioners’ nominees for screening.

DAILY POST reports that lawmakers resumed sitting on Thursday morning after the suspension of emergency rule in the state.

Recall that President Bola Tinubu had on Wednesday suspended the emergency rule with all democratic structures in the state restored.

Speaker of the House, Martins Amaewhule, presided over the plenary at the conference hall nestled within the legislative quarters.

The Assembly is still under construction following its demolition months ago by the state government.

On March 18, Tinubu declared emergency rule in the state following a protracted political crisis arising from the rift between Fubara and Nyesom Wike, minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

Subsequently, Fubara, Ngozi Nma Odu, his deputy, and the legislators were suspended for a period of six months by the president.

Tinubu appointed Ibas as sole administrator of the state for the period.
