The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) have both denounced the attack on Government Girls’ Comprehensive Senior Secondary School in Maga, situated in Danko Wasagu LGA of Kebbi State.

Ini Ememobong, the national publicity secretary of the PDP, stated that this incident highlights the “alarming increase in insecurity” throughout the nation.

He further remarked that the federal government, led by President Bola Tinubu, has “prioritized the politicization of governance over the safety of its citizens.”

Ememobong asserted that the government must acknowledge its failure to protect lives and property.

He expressed his condolences to the family of the slain vice-principal, the parents of the abducted students, and the Kebbi State Government.

The former commissioner from Akwa Ibom noted that recent abductions in Nasarawa, Plateau, Kano, and Katsina states demonstrate that insecurity “is evidently not the hope promised to Nigerians.”

Bolaji Abdullahi, the national publicity secretary of the ADC, mentioned that this attack serves as “another painful reminder of the deteriorating security situation across the nation.”

Abdullahi indicated that the party has consistently urged the federal government to address insecurity with “seriousness and urgency,” adding that the administration has “ignored the plight of ordinary Nigerians.”

He cautioned that these kidnappings must not become a repetition of the 2014 Chibok girls’ tragedy.

Abdullahi further stated that a government unable to protect its schools cannot claim credibility in its promise to safeguard Nigerians.

He urged Tinubu to ensure the immediate rescue of the abducted students and called on security agencies to act with “urgency, clarity, and competence.”

Additionally, he emphasized that the government should make use of all available intelligence resources and improve coordination among security agencies.
