RAF airmen are now allowed to have goatees if they cannot grow a full beard.
The change to facial hair policy has come into effect for the first time in its 107-year history.

But the fuzz must be a full goatee and cover the whole jawline, connecting the moustache to the chin beard.
Bosses made the changes to allow for people unable to grow — allowed for the first time in 2019.

As well as being allowed goatees, airmen can have their hair shorter on the sides and shaved, but mohicans and mullets are banned.
Up to four rings including smart tech and thumb rings are now allowed.
Female staff can wear up to four earrings an ear, but not helix earrings.
Women can also apply nail varnish of any colour except glitter, metallic or neon.
It can be worn only for ceremonial events and must be clear, nude or French tips.
Tattoos also remain strictly prohibited but personnel can get scalp micro-pigmentation.
The RAF said: “The appearance policy aims to maintain high standards while reflecting modern, inclusive values.”
