The Nigeria Police Force has declared that it will recommence the enforcement of the tinted glass permit across the country, pending the final decision from the court.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, made this announcement in a statement on Monday.
Hundeyin emphasized that this enforcement is part of efforts to address the increasing levels of insecurity in the nation, as it has been observed that certain individuals and criminal organizations have been taking advantage of the halted enforcement of tinted glass permits to engage in armed robbery, kidnapping, and other violent offenses.

According to the statement, the court has not issued any order preventing the Nigeria Police Force from enforcing the regulations concerning the tinted glass permit law.
However, the policy had been temporarily suspended by the Force to allow citizens the chance to comply.

“It is crucial to clarify that the court has never restrained the Nigeria Police Force from enforcing the stipulations of the law regarding the use of tinted glass on vehicles.
“Nevertheless, in the interest of responsibility, transparency, and public convenience, the Force had suspended enforcement to provide motorists with sufficient time to regularize their documentation and complete the registration process without undue pressure,” the statement concluded.
