A CHILD and an adult have been killed after a truck ploughed into players and fans at a youth football match in Kansas.
Police have described the horror attack at the Stryker Sports Complex as a “mass casualty” event.
The terrifying rampage unfolded at around 3.25pm.
Several people were struck by the truck and have been rushed to hospital, according to Wichita Police Capt. Aaron Moses.
The severity of their injuries has not been revealed.
One witness told 12 News that a “black pickup truck came plowing through the youth soccer fields hitting multiple people before stopping 100-200 yards down the fields”.
Police captain Moses said that at this time it is unclear how fast the truck was going or how it got onto the field.
Names and ages of the victims have not been revealed.
Horrified bystanders made multiple 911 calls at around 3.25pm – triggering a mass emergency response including police, firefighters and other law enforcement officials to race to the playing fields.
