No fewer than 4,500 opposition members from The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State.
The decamped members were received on Thursday at the Manpower Development Institute, MDI, in Dutse.

He explained that the decampees who were notable figures in the opposition parties for years have now with all their followers joined the APC to support the second term bid of President Bola Ahmad Tinubu and Governor Umar Namadi.
Indallah assured party members that he would continue to give his full support to ensure the APC’s success in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on behalf of the defectors, former NNPP stalwart and former candidate for Buji Local Government and State Assembly elections, Engr. Balarabe Umar, said their decision to join the APC was informed by the visionary, people-centred and results-driven leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi.
