The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has ruled out any possibility of leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

However, Wike revealed that many PDP leaders would follow him if he chose to switch to the APC.

During a media chat in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, the Minister stated: “If I announce today that I want to join the APC, it would mark the end of any further discussion on the matter.

“You would observe leaders from other states joining as well; I’m not a leader limited to just one state. No.

“If I declare today that we have had enough of the PDP and need to make a move, just watch how many will defect from Benue, Plateau, Abia, and Edo.”

The Minister also affirmed his ongoing membership in the PDP, which has caused dissatisfaction for Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.

“I’m a member of the PDP, which is why I remain in the party, and that’s why Seyi is unhappy. It’s incorrect to assume that just because you are a member of the assembly, council, or National Assembly, there aren’t other individuals involved,” he added.
