The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ini Ememobong, asserts that there are no factions within the party.
During an interview on Arise Television, which was monitored by DAILY POST, Ememobong stated that the current situation involves only a few individuals who are dissatisfied with the overall direction of the party.
“It starts from the bottom up, and the legitimacy flows from there. So when you ask yourself, it is not accurate to claim that there’s a faction,” he explained.
“It’s merely a few individuals who are unhappy with the general proceedings. That’s the essence of democracy: the majority will prevail while the minority will have the opportunity to express their views.”
“If you look at this individual named Samuel Anyanwu and question on what authority he could have called a meeting to dismiss Damagun, you will see that his argument is weak,” he added.
“Moreover, when considering the party staff and the former officials who were elected long before, it is evident that they are under the authority of the state chairman of the party,” he concluded.
