IT’S one of the few new challenge shows that has successfully attracted a fresh audience in recent years – and Tempting Fortune is now being rewarded with a third series.

However, this season will not feature a host.

The father of three, who hosted the first two seasons, is stepping down due to other commitments.

The identity of his replacement has not yet been announced.

Channel 4 has officially greenlit the next installment, which will once again take place in a remote location, with filming set to begin early next year.

Paddy stated: “I’m happy to pass the baton to the new host, who is in for a fantastic experience because it’s an incredible show. I will miss it, but due to other commitments and a desire to spend more time with my family, I’ve had to make some tough decisions.”

A representative for Channel 4 commented: “Paddy has been an outstanding host of Tempting Fortune, bringing his signature humor to both seasons.

“We are thankful for everything he has contributed to the show, and we completely understand that the overseas filming commitment is significant, making it impossible for him to join us for the next series.”

The six-part series, which debuted in 2023, involved competitors attempting to resist various temptations during a trek in South Africa.

While competing for the substantial jackpot, they spent several days in the wilderness, equipped only with basic rations and survival gear.

The following year, The Sun exclusively reported that the show would receive a sequel, which Channel 4 confirmed that spring.

This season, set in Langkawi, Malaysia, aired in March of this year and was also well-received.

The new series could be on our screens by late 2026 or early 2027.

Applications are now open for anyone interested in participating.

AB-FABBA-LAND REUNION

THE Amandaland Christmas special features a reunion that’s sure to thrill Absolutely Fabulous fans.

This time, however, the actresses will portray sisters instead of best friends in the BBC One comedy.

Jennifer, who will appear as Joan, Amanda's aunt, said: “Joanna plays my older sister, and we are completely different characters. Joan has decided that she will be the life and soul of the party.

“She resides in a slightly shabby country house and always hosted the family Christmases that Amanda remembers and wishes to recreate.

“Joan herself is rather shabby but incredibly kind and probably farts a lot.”

When asked about the similarities she shares with Joan, Jennifer replied: “I am somewhat shabby and I fart a lot.”

Not very kind then, Jennifer?

A star mentioned that the script for the new series of the BBC One cop show is “a real page-turner.”

While discussing his return as DI Steve Arnott on the Chris Moyles Show on Radio X yesterday, he added: “I’m excited to get my waistcoats fitted.”

RUTH IS CALLING SHOTS

AS Nessa in her previous role, her character was definitely not a softie.

But she confirms just how tough she plays in the new thriller, Run Away, which premieres on New Year’s Day.
