THIS is the moment a heartless owner repeatedly kicked and dragged his blind dog by the collar – leaving the elderly pooch too stiff to even walk into the vets.

Shocking footage showed David Allan Young, 61, attacking greying Patterdale Terrier Milo multiple times.

The vile owner booted the 19-year-old pooch in the back and tail area while in the road in County Durham.

Another clip showed him kicking Milo in the back leg in his garden and whacked the dog later at night – calling him a “c***”.

Young was also filmed dragging the animal by his collar after the blind dog wandered into someone’s front garden.

Young shouted: “You’ve got the wrong house you fool.

“Milo, get out of there.”

A worried member of the public called the RSPCA, who rescued Milo on June 11.

But the found to be too stiff to even walk into the vet for treatment so had to be carried into the vet.

Milo was found to have cancer and a number of problems including dental disease and arthritis.

He had not received any treatment despite being diagnosed with dental disease three years ago.

The vet said in a statement: “Milo will have suffered momentarily during the hitting, kicking and shouting episodes, however the emotional impact may have a life-long effect.”

They tragically recommended he should be put to sleep.

Young has now been convicted of failing to protect Milo from pain, suffering, injury and disease between February and June last year.

He was banned from keeping for two years and was ordered to pay a £220 fine, £300 towards prosecution costs and an £88 victim surcharge, totalling £608.

RSPCA Inspector Clare Wilson said: “Milo was an elderly and vulnerable dog who should have been able to spend his final years feeling safe and cared for.

“The footage showed a deeply concerning pattern of behaviour towards him, with Milo being kicked and dragged by his collar on multiple occasions.

“It is heartbreaking that Milo suffered in this way, particularly during his later years.”
