President Bola Tinubu on Thursday held a telephone conversation with Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke.
The president’s media aide Bayo Onanuga disclosed this in a post on his official X handle.
According to Onanuga, during the telephone conversation, the president informed the governor about his directive to the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, to lift the order freezing the state government’s account.
“President Tinubu in a phone conversation with Governor Ademola Adeleke on Thursday informed him about his directive to the EFCC to lift the court order on the Osun State Government account”, Onanuga posted.
There has been tension in Osun State ahead of the August 15, 2026 gubernatorial election as candidates of the two major political parties, All Progressives Congress and Acord Party continue to allege attacks on their supporters.
Governor Adeleke on Wednesday accused the APC, of sponsoring government agencies to intimidate his supporters, claiming that over 60 persons have been arrested by the police.
Tinubu’s telephone conversation with the Acord Party candidate is expected to douse tension ahead of Saturday’s polls.
