A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has stated that the selection of Bola Oyebamiji as the party’s candidate for the governorship election on August 8, 2026, signifies a forthcoming victory.
While addressing journalists on Sunday in Osogbo, Oyintiloye noted that Oyebamiji’s nomination through a consensus arrangement should be credited to the leadership of the APC, its members, and especially to the other aspirants who withdrew from the race.
He emphasized that the way Oyebamiji emerged as the candidate reflects the growth and exemplary character that the APC is renowned for.
He stated, “With Oyebamiji as our candidate and the APC on the verge of victory at the polls, the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu will be effectively implemented in Osun, ensuring good governance.”
“Having successfully completed the primary elections, our focus must now shift to the main election. Oyebamiji as our candidate is a significant step towards achieving victory for the APC.”
“However, we must work diligently as a united family with a common purpose to secure this victory.”
The former lawmaker recalled that some individuals had predicted turmoil within the party due to the large number of aspirants initially vying for the APC gubernatorial ticket.
Yet, Oyintiloye praised the intervention of party leaders, which he said facilitated a smooth process, and commended President Bola Tinubu, APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, Chief Bisi Akande, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegoyega Oyetola, and others for their guidance and dedication to a successful primary for Osun APC.
He urged the APC leadership in the state to further strengthen the party to make the victory in the governorship election less challenging. Oyintiloye assured that if elected as governor, Oyebamiji would lead a government focused on the people, implementing programs and policies designed to positively affect the lives of residents.
Additionally, he called on party members in Osun to intensify their efforts and unite with the goal of returning the APC to power in the state.
