He was taken to the hospital after losing consciousness while using an exercise bike.

Oscar currently plays for Sao Paulo, the club where he began his career.

The 34-year-old has not trained since the incident, as he is taking time to consider his options.

According to Brazilian outlet Globo , Oscar has discussed his future with the club and has informed them of his intention to retire, with a formal announcement expected soon.

If he does decide to retire, he can reflect on his career with pride, especially during his time at Chelsea.

The Brazilian joined the club from Internacional in 2012 and spent four and a half seasons there.

He played a crucial role in the team that won the championship in 2014/15, serving as the No. 10 behind the forwards.

Although he left midway through the title-winning campaign of 2016/17, he still received his winners’ medal, having made nine appearances between August and January—four more than the five required to qualify for a medal.

In addition, he also won the League Cup while playing in London.

Oscar spent seven years of his career in China with Shanghai Port before returning to Sao Paulo last Christmas on a three-year contract, which now appears likely to be shortened by two years.

He also earned 48 international caps between 2011 and 2015, including winning the Confederations Cup in 2013 and participating in the World Cup hosted the following year.

Oscar's last year in football has been inconsistent due to injuries, and with his recent diagnosis, it seems likely that he will soon retire.
