The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has criticized former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, questioning his qualifications for leadership and his ability to govern Nigeria.
While inaugurating two newly constructed roads – ILS11 (Esther Bali Street) and MAR24 (Kez Udezue Street) – in the Mabushi area of Abuja, Wike reprimanded Obi for his ongoing criticisms of the government.
He asserted that the former governor of Anambra State lacks the authority to advise anyone on governance, citing his failures during his tenure as governor.
Wike further remarked that Obi may continue to campaign for the presidency on social media but will not succeed in becoming the president of Nigeria.
“You run for president under a party, yet you cannot manage that party. If you struggle to keep a party together, how do you expect to manage Nigeria, a nation of over 200 million people? Just a party of a few members? There’s chaos,” he stated.
“If you can't manage them, how can you oversee a complex nation like Nigeria? It is not suitable for individuals like you. You can identify a good dancer from the very first step,” Wike commented.
He also accused Obi of being hypocritical, pointing out that while Obi displays public acts of compassion, his governance record in Anambra State presents a contrasting narrative.
