The Action Alliance, AA, has distanced itself from reports linking it to a group supporting the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Ondo State.

A statement issued by the Action Alliance Chairman, Abdullah Olowokere, and made available to Daily Post explained that the group known as the Progressive Network for Tinubu, PNT, has no affiliation with the Action Alliance at either the state or national level.

Olowokere blasted the promoters of the PNT, saying that under the leadership of its national chairman, Adekunle Rufai Omoaje, the Action Alliance is an independent political party that is not influenced by external forces.

He said that the Action Alliance was not involved in any agreement allegedly facilitated by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, describing the Ondo State chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Engr. Ade Adetimehin’s claims as erroneous and misleading.

The AA leader explained, “the party is not entering into any alliances with pro-Tinubu campaign organizations, including the PNT or any other support group for Tinubu. Under Omoaje’s leadership, the party remains focused, determined, and pragmatic”.

Olowokere also warned that anyone claiming to represent the Action Alliance at meetings or forums is an impersonator and should be treated as such, saying that the authentic leadership of the Action Alliance was not aware of such meetings and did not participate in them.

He urged the Minister of Interior and the APC state chairman to thoroughly evaluate individuals representing the Action Alliance at any gatherings attended by them or their representatives, stressing that the Action Alliance in Ondo State is led by him, and any potential alliance will need to originate from the National Executive Council headed by Dr. Adekunle Rufai Omoaje.

He called on the APC leadership in Ondo State and the Presidency to be cautious of the activities of individuals posing as leaders and members of the Action Alliance in the state.
