A “DANGEROUS” old lady was filmed riding a mobility scooter the wrong way down a busy dual carriageway… only to make a getaway before cops could catch her.
Footage shows the shocking moment the woman was seen directly into oncoming traffic over a bridge in Doncaster – with one stunned witness saying it “could have ended tragically”.

The woman appears oblivious that she is driving the wrong way down the A-road, facing the opposite direction to the traffic and forcing drivers to slow down as she heads towards them.
Multiple ahead can be seen changing lanes and a white visibly drives around her in footage from the incident on November 16.
Despite Police being scrambled to the scene, they admitted that even ‘an extensive area search’ failed to find her.
The bizarre moment happened along the A19 on St George’s Bridge, which crosses the River Don into Doncaster city centre.
Damian Tabała was driving over the bridge at around 11:40am when he caught the ‘dangerous’ incident on his dash cam.
The 36-year-old from Doncaster said he was “surprised” at what happened, adding it was lucky not to end “tragically”.
Damian said: “I was surprised by the situation because the road is only for cars.
“It happened on a bridge, which makes it particularly dangerous.
“I’m not sure if she ended up there by accident or not, but it could have ended tragically.”
A South Police spokesperson said: “At 11.50am on Sunday 16 November, we received reports of a mobility scooter being ridden in the direction of oncoming traffic on St George’s Bridge in Doncaster.
“Officers attended, and an extensive area search was carried out, but no one was located riding a mobility scooter in the road.”
Mobility scooters can be driven on roads provided they meet ‘Class 3’ regulations – which include having a rearview mirror, front and rear lights and a maximum speed of 8mph.
Powered wheelchairs and mobility scooters are only permitted on dual carriageways if they are fitted with a flashing amber light for visibility, and government advice says to ‘avoid’ roads with speed limits above 50mph.
