NYSC pledges meaningful impact by corps members in host communities

The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has reiterated its commitment to ensuring that corps members make significant contributions to their host communities throughout their service year.

Director General of NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, gave the assurance,Tuesdayduring the closing ceremony of the 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream 1 orientation course held in Bauchi.

He was represented by the NYSC Bauchi State Coordinator,Rifkatu Yakubu.

The DG commended the corps members for demonstrating patriotism, discipline, loyalty, and maturity during their three-week orientation, noting that such qualities are essential for a successful service year.

“By your show of maturity, patriotism, commitment, discipline, and tolerance, I am confident that your time on camp has been worthwhile and that you will positively impact your host communities,”;; he stated.

He urged the corps members to be diligent, loyal, and adaptable as they proceed to the next phase of their service.

“Settle down quickly at your places of primary assignment, respect the customs and culture of your host communities, obey local rules, and ensure you leave those communities better than you met them through your community development efforts,”;; he advised.

DAILY POST reports that a total of 1,600 corps members — 717 males and 883 females — have been deployed across the state for the one-year national service.
