The North West chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth League has distanced itself from a group that claims to be a coalition of APC support organizations in Kebbi State.
The league characterized the coalition as “unregistered and unrecognized,” asserting that it lacks any legitimacy within the party’s framework.
During a press conference in Kaduna, the league’s national coordinator, Comrade Aliyu Suleiman, stated that the coalition does not exist within the APC's structure at the ward, local government, state, or national levels.
He noted that the coalition has never engaged in party activities or grassroots mobilization efforts.
Suleiman accused the group of trying to exploit the reputation of Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, for their own personal gain.
The youth league also reiterated its support for Senator Bagudu and encouraged APC members in Kebbi State to stay united behind Governor Nasir Idris.
Suleiman warned against actions that could lead to divisions within the party, emphasizing that unity is essential for strengthening the APC in Kebbi and the North West region.
The press conference was attended by officials from the North West APC Youth League and various political observers.
