The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has rescinded the indefinite suspension placed on Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf in 2025, following an inquiry into allegations of misconduct against him.

In a statement, the party indicated that the suspension was lifted after a comprehensive review of a report from a committee established to investigate the allegations, which were reportedly associated with Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and his supporters within the party.

The NNPP National Working Committee (NWC), in collaboration with the party’s Founder and Board of Trustees, announced this decision during an urgent meeting at the party’s National Headquarters in Abuja.

The party reinstated all rights and privileges to Governor Yusuf and designated him as the National Leader of the NNPP, referring to this role as the highest elected office within the party framework.

The NWC encouraged Governor Yusuf to leverage his leadership position to strengthen the party’s accomplishments as it gears up for the 2027 elections.

In the statement, the party also praised the governor for his bravery in confronting “imaginary powers” and reiterated its stance on the expulsion of Senator Kwankwaso and his Kwankwassiya group from the party.

The statement was signed by Dr. Agbo Gilbert Major, the National Chairman of the NNPP.
