The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kano State has announced that it has come to a mutual agreement with the families of the two deceased members of the Kano State House of Assembly regarding their replacements.
In an interview with DCL Hausa, the state chairman of the party, Dr. Hashim Sulaiman Dungurawa, stated that this agreement followed extensive consultations led by the party’s national leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
According to Dungurawa, Kwankwaso convened a meeting with key party leaders and members of the grieving families at his residence in Kano, where they discussed the way forward.
“There is understanding and respect on all sides. We sat down, talked openly, and agreed on the process,” Dungurawa remarked.
He expressed confidence that Sa’ad Aminu Sa’ad and Nabil Aliyu Daneji, who are being considered as potential replacements, would uphold the standards and public service legacy of their late fathers.
“We believe they will carry on the legacy of service and commitment that their fathers exemplified,” he added.
The two lawmakers passed away on December 24, 2025, after battling separate illnesses, resulting in vacant seats in the Kano State Assembly.
