The Chairman of the Nigeria National League (NNL), Mr. George Aluo, has praised center referee Lawal Jibrin Abdulwahab for his performance during the match between Sporting Supreme and Gombe United.
Abdulwahab was supported by assistant referees Musa Bajaj and Aminu Ibrahim.
Aluo stated that the match officials demonstrated impartial officiating, maintaining composure and effective management throughout the game.
The match, which ended in a goalless draw, was held at the Bwari Stadium in Abuja on Friday.
“I want to commend them for the professionalism they displayed in managing the match,” Aluo told NNL media.
“They were not swayed by either team, nor did they allow emotions to influence their decisions, which is exactly what we expect from referees.
“All the decisions they made were spot on, and even when the Coach of Sporting Supreme raised unnecessary complaints, the center referee issued him a straight red card, which was well-received by everyone. The positive outcome was that, by the end of the game, both teams were content with the officiating.”
