Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, has asserted that Nigerians are comparatively safer now under Tinubu’s administration.
Bwala made these remarks while answering questions during an interview on ‘Sunday Politics’, a program aired on Channels Television.
He noted that prior to 2023, Nigeria experienced frequent prison breaks, daytime kidnappings, and daily instances of violence.
“In fact, when US President Donald Trump took office in 2016, he began supplying us with some of the ammunition that the previous administration had withheld from us,” he explained.
“He understands the significance of Nigeria and the crucial role it plays in combatting insecurity.”
“Today, Nigerians are significantly safer than they were before 2023, as there were rampant prison breaks across the nation. Even in Abuja, individuals would be kidnapped in broad daylight,” he continued.
“Before President Bola Tinubu assumed office, there were daily killings occurring in various regions of the country.”
“However, since he became president, reports of prison breaks have diminished, and people are able to conduct their daily activities throughout the country,” he concluded.
