The rooftop track is currently being tested, with public access expected soon, emphasizing a growing trend of integrating sports infrastructure with community spaces.

Designed by architect Chybik + Kristof (CH+K), it is the largest sports and cultural facility in the modern Vysocina Region.

The new mega facility was constructed in just two years on the site of the original ice hockey stadium, which served the city for 68 years.

The arena has a seating capacity of 5,581, which can be expanded to 7,416 for concerts.

In addition to the remarkable rooftop running track, the complex also features a brewery, fitness center, fan shop, and food service outlets.

Project Manager Josef Prokes stated: “Construction was extremely demanding, both technically and logistically.

“From precise coordination of numerous trades in a compact urban environment to phased installations linked to the commissioning of technologies.

“An interesting aspect is the utilization of waste heat and excess cold from ice surface cooling for heating water, underfloor heating, or cooling interior spaces through air handling systems.”

There is also an accommodation facility in the corner building, which can accommodate sports teams and tournament participants for larger events.

The public's response to the rooftop running track has been overwhelmingly positive.

One fan remarked: “That’s brilliant. It’s much better on the roof than around the pitch.”

Other notable rooftop running tracks include the Osaka Air Track and the White Collar Factory in Old Street.
