NAPOLI have accused AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri of an “out of control attack” on their staff member Gabriele Oriali.

The reigning champions allege that “severely insulted” Oriali with “offensive language”.

faced in the Supercoppa Italiana semi-finals in Riyadh last night.

In the morning after the match, Napoli released a club statement, making their accusation against Allegri.

It read: “SSC Napoli firmly condemns the behavior of AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri, who, during the Italian Super Cup semifinal, in the presence of dozens of people pitchside and on live television, repeatedly and severely insulted Gabriele Oriali with offensive language.

“We hope this completely out of control attack does not go unnoticed, especially since, with 33 cameras involved in the event’s production, it is impossible not to witness what happened.”

Neither AC Milan nor Allegri have yet publicly responded to the allegation.

Oriali, 73, played for Milan’s city rivals between 1970 and 1983, in addition to earning 28 caps for .

He subsequently worked as Inter’s technical director between 1999 and 2010, before returning for another stint between 2019 and 2021.

In 2024 he moved to Napoli to take on the job of sports coordinator.

The role sees him assist boss Conte, as he did for last night’s fiery match.

With Napoli leading 2-0, the match exploded with controversy late on.

In the 82nd minute, committed a hard foul on , but initially carried on as if he hadn’t heard the referee’s whistle.

With play long having been pulled back, Fikyo Tomori whacked the ball away, bumping into McTominay in the process.

The international, 29, took offence, back as several team-mates from both sides steamed in.

When the ruckus finally calmed down, both players were shown yellow cards for their roles in the incident.

The bad feeling extended to the dugouts, with Allegri and Oriali exchanging words in the 89th minute.

In a video published by Italian broadcaster Sportmediaset , it is in this exchange that Allegri is accused of using “severely insulting” bad language towards Oriali.

The bad tempered match finished 2-0 shortly after, with neither coaches shaking hands upon the final whistle.

Napoli advanced to the final, in which they will meet either Inter Milan or Bologna.

The two sides face off in the other Riyadh semi-final this evening.
