‘‘ last beat David Picasso at the end of 2025 at ‘The Ring V: Night of the Samurai’ in Riyadh, winning in a dominant unanimous decision to retain his undisputed titles.
His challenger also hasn’t lost in his career, but is fighting at this weight for just the second time in his career after holding the IBF and WBC bantamweight belts.
His last outing was on the same card as Inoue in Saudi Arabia, where ‘Big Bang’ beat Sebastian Hernandez on his super-bantamweight debut to earn this shot for the undisputed crown.
The pair headline a stacked bill in Tokyo, where Naoya Inoue’s younger brother Takuma is also fighting – he is the WBC bantamweight champion.
