Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, a former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP), has criticized Senator Orji Uzor Kalu for attributing the recent rise in banditry across the nation to politicians.
“For someone of Orji Uzor Kalu's stature to make such a “disgraceful and unsubstantiated” accusation indicates a “high display of sycophancy, eye service, and betrayal of the highest order” that has become common among some politicians in the country’s political landscape,” Eze stated in a press release from Port Harcourt on Monday.
“How could a rational person, not suffering from political hallucinations, believe that opposition politicians are funding bandits and violence to undermine President Bola Tinubu’s administration?” Eze further questioned.
Instead, Eze urged the former Abia State governor to have the courage to confront Tinubu with the harsh realities stemming from his ineffective and confused leadership as President of Nigeria.
“Orji Uzor Kalu should be courageous and patriotic enough to inform Tinubu, unequivocally, that Nigeria is sitting on a powder keg and is hopelessly suffering under his administration.”
“What Tinubu requires now is visionary, honest, and proactive allies, not timid politicians who speak from both sides of their mouths just to gain political favor.”
“Propose solutions to the rampant kidnapping, killings, and widespread destruction of lives and property occurring in the country, despite the colossal sums being spent by the Federal Government to combat insecurity, rather than assigning blame,” Eze advised Kalu.
Recall that Kalu, during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, claimed that the pattern of attacks indicates a political agenda rather than mere random criminal activity.
In a statement on Monday, Eze addressed Kalu and Adams Oshiomhole, who shares a similar viewpoint to Kalu, stating that “it is the blood of innocent and defenseless Nigerians slaughtered due to this administration’s zero solutions to insecurity, along with the prayers of the Saints, that have drawn global attention to the insecurity in Nigeria.”
“Dear Senators Kalu and Oshiomhole, what is occurring in our country is not calculated violence, but a clear sign that President Tinubu has utterly failed to protect Nigerians.”
“He has no solutions to the security challenges currently facing Nigeria. His cluelessness is disgraceful. Advise him instead of blaming others.”
“There is no such thing as part of a calculated attempt to destabilize President Bola Tinubu’s administration. Go and advise him to step up and safeguard Nigerians. He should focus on governance rather than fixating on 2027, while he has already failed as President,” Eze asserted.
Eze challenged Kalu and Oshiomhole to identify the sponsors of insecurity in Nigeria, emphasizing that their failure to disclose names is an act of sheer cowardice and suggests they are complicit in the situation.
“Name them if you know who they are. If you know them, then you are one of them. Who are these politicians intent on ensuring Tinubu fails in office, just as they allegedly attempted to undermine former President Goodluck Jonathan?” Eze challenged Orji Uzor Kalu and Adams Oshiomhole.
“It is unfortunate that Senators Kalu and Oshiomhole, rather than addressing the security challenges plaguing Nigeria, chose to blame opposition politicians both within and outside Nigeria without having the courage to name those they have in mind,” Eze concluded.
