The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Headquarters Logistics Command has declared a temporary closure of sections of the Murtala Muhammed Airport Road in Lagos on Saturday, October 18, 2025, to accommodate its routine 10-kilometre Walk/Jog Exercise.
According to a statement released by the Command's Public Relations Officer, Squadron Leader Abigail Ologun, the physical activity is set to take place between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. This initiative is part of NAF’s ongoing dedication to fostering physical fitness, health, and operational readiness among its officers and airmen.
The statement urged motorists and residents in the vicinity of the Murtala Muhammed Airport to find alternative routes during the exercise, as movement will be temporarily restricted from Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2 (MMA2) to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA).
“The Command has made comprehensive arrangements to ensure that the exercise proceeds smoothly, safely, and without interruptions. NAF and other security personnel will be present to manage traffic and ensure public safety,” the statement indicated in part.
While expressing regret for any inconvenience the brief road closure may cause, the Air Force requested the cooperation and understanding of the public, assuring that normal traffic flow will be restored promptly after the exercise.
