However, for the three-day German Darts Championship, which begins on Friday in Hildesheim, Littler's withdrawal has allowed Poland’s Krzysztof Ratajski to secure a spot in the main draw.

Additionally, Gary Anderson and Callan Rydz have also withdrawn from the event.

The defending champion is set to be crowned, as he defeated Littler 8–5 in the final of 2024. This Scottish two-time world champion will face German Ricardo Pietreczko or Pole Radek Szaganski in the second round on Saturday.

This marks the 14th and final event on the EuroTour calendar, but Littler, who is 18, is scheduled to compete at the European Championship in Dortmund from October 23 onwards.

Recently, Littler triumphed at ProTour event 32 in Wigan on Wednesday night.

This impressive performance marked a significant achievement for the young player.

Last week, Littler reached the final of the World Grand Prix, but faced different circumstances against a 21-year-old competitor.

The defeat not only impacted Littler but also brought Greaves into the limelight at the same time.

Littler may still be affected by the aftermath of that match when he lost in his opening match at the Players Championship 31 against Ritchie Edhouse.

A break after such a demanding week could be just what Littler needs to regain his focus after a rollercoaster schedule.
