A MUM has divided opinion after pleading with husbands and kids not to buy supermarket “toot” for Mother’s Day.
Shops are already lined with gifts for the , which takes place on March 15th, including mugs, candles and cushioned all emblazoned with ‘World’s Best Mum’ or similar slogans.

Brogan took to TikTok to share a video showing the gifts in , as she said: “I think I speak for all when I say, please do not buy us this toot for Mother’s Day!”
“I’m sorry but who is actually buying this stuff?!” she added in the caption.
“I won’t lie the mugs were kind of cute but who really wants a cushion that’s has ‘mum’ or ‘nan’ stitched on the front of it?!”
And she quickly discovered that there are a LOT of mums who share the same opinion as her, with one writing: “Agreed! A gift card, or some nice bubble bath is all that’s needed, or a bottle of wine.”
“It’s so annoying because there’s some genuinely nice stuff that’s ruined by having ‘Mum’ written on it,” another added.
“I’ve sent my partner and idea list consisting of my favourite candle and a rose plant for the garden,” a third commented, adding: “No more teddies please!”
“I can’t believe how many on here love this stuff…. I’m with you on this, I’ll go without,” someone else said.
“Literally walked past it with my 12 year old and said ‘tell Daddy I don’t want any of this!'” another admitted.
As someone else called it “pure tacky”, another said: “I hate all the crap in supermarkets for Mother’s Day.
“Half of it ends up in the bin within a month!”
However, there were also mums in the comments who emphatically disagreed with Brogan.
“Do not speak for me!!! I’ll cherish anything my children get me,” one wrote.
“Some of us like that stuff,” another grumbled.
“Should be grateful for what you get,” a third said.
“I don’t expect my daughter to get me anything.
“All I ask for is a card and told her to make one and not buy one as it isn’t all about the money.”
