ARSENAL will reportedly have to sell a first-team star this summer with eight names in the firing line.

The Gunners have spent vast sums in recent years to assemble a squad capable of winning the Premier League.

They have led the way for much of the season after spending £268million in transfer fees in the most recent financial year.

And despite recording losses of just £1.4m for the 2024-25 season, Arsenal will have to sell a big-name player this summer, according to The Telegraph .

One or more players could leave to free up wages and get some extra cash in the bank.

Captain could be made available after an underwhelming season, along with who has spent much of the campaign injured.

Other players who have seen their minutes diminish this season like Ben White, Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli could also be allowed to leave.

They would likely fetch big transfer fees – as would who may also become available.

Academy graduates Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri are understood to be up for sale too.

Neither star has managed to break into the first-team on a regular basis with Nwaneri on loan at Marseille.

Last summer failed to make any major outgoings with Nuno Tavares and Marquinhos leaving for small fees, and several players going out on loan.

They have been able to offset their spending thanks to .

That includes record broadcast revenue of £272.8m thanks to a bigger distribution from Uefa for Arsenal’s exploits.

Commercial revenue was up too, with Arsenal bringing in an impressive £263.2m – a significant improvement on the 2024 figure of £218.3m.

The club’s retail operations saw revenues soar by 27 per cent, in no small part thanks to their regular kit drops and merchandise releases alongside sponsor Adidas.

The total profit on sale of player sales was £81.2m and player loans amounted to £500,000,
