WHETHER you’re a believer or not, if you had the opportunity to spend the night in what is known as ”one of the most haunted pubs” in the UK, would you do it?
Located in , the Golden Fleece dates back to at least 1503.

Given that York was once hailed as the ‘’most haunted city in Europe’’ by the International Ghost Research Foundation, the watering hole is, by proxy, in the country.
Regular hauntings here have led ghost believers to conclude that there are 15 different restless spirits here, including ‘’One Eyed Jack’’ – a 17th century red coat seen carrying a pistol and a young Victorian boy who was trampled to death by horses in the yard, Metro reported .
Other eerie guests you may bump into include the former landlady, Alice Peckett, who is said to stalk the corridors late at night, and a Canadian airman who fell to his death from one of the upper windows during .
The wealth of here even led to an investigation by hit paranormal TV show, Most Haunted, in 2005.
If all of this sounds a bit too much for those petrified of ghosts and the dark, one , Penny Jane, recently did all the work for us, sharing her experience at the .
Whilst there, Penny stayed at the St Catherine’s room which she said is ”haunted by a female who stands silently in the doorway”.
Although the lavish bedroom looked fit for a queen, Penny couldn’t help that she was ”being watched” – ”constantly”.
Sharing eerie snaps of the interior, the guest claimed that ”Roman soldiers have been seen in the cellar of the pub before vanishing”.
Even more spooky is the fact that whenever Penny took a snap of the paintings or other parts of the pub the ”photos always have orbs in them”.
Although some viewers said that ”orbs are nothing more than dust, moisture, light flare, pollen”, Penny likes ”to believe they are spirits”.
The brave guest, who posts under the username @ pene_lopes , added in the comments: ”I only hear noises and bangs, my friend senses loads of things.”
While Penny didn’t see anything unnatural, she ”felt weird things, lots and lots of” them at the ”scary eerie place”.
She went on in the comments: ”Weird stuff happened in all the three times we’ve stayed in the rooms, too much to mention.
”Very scary place at night, going down into the bar when it’s all closed to public and staff gone home.
”Lots of orbs flying about when you take photos in dark, especially near One-eyed Jack’s chair.”
Uploaded just three days ago, the clip has already racked up more than a whopping 644k views and close to 15k likes.
Almost 880 people flooded to comments, where one guest said: ”There are plenty of spirits in the bar.”
Another chimed in: ”I’m telling you now I have experienced something at this pub! Gave me scooby doo legs, I was GONE!!!”
A third shared their experience: ”I’ve been there for drinks, but I think the ghosts are shy when there’s lots of people around.
”Bartender claimed he’s seen odd stuff though, apparently some ghosts help them “tidy up” after their shifts.”
”Well it’s not, because haunted pubs don’t exist,” a sceptic wrote.
”There’s no such things as ghosts… I hope this helps,” another added.
