Mbappe, 27, went down under zero pressure before France manager Didier Deschamps decided his time was up.
Deschamps replaced the Real Madrid striker with Crystal Palace ace Jean-Philippe Mateta.
Mbappe put France ahead with a stunning finish from outside the box on the hour mark.
The former PSG man and 2018 World Cup winner missed a first half penalty before drawing level with Lionel Messi’s eight tournament goals.
