CONOR MCGREGOR has revealed the measures he took to protect his leg in the weeks before he snapped it in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier.

It later transpired that and his team KNEW he had micro-fractures in his shin bone.
But despite that, ‘The Notorious’, who was desperate to avenge the KO defeat to Poirier nearly six months earlier , decided not to pull the plug on the Sin City showdown.
And he’s revealed that he wore a protective boot between training sessions to ensure he made it to fight night.
The former two-weight world champion said: “I knew the leg had the stress fracture going into the bout. It was known.
“I was in a boot prior to the bout walking around. I stepped up and rocked on.
“The damage had been done on the leg and had been accumulating. And it snapped and that was it. It happens.”
, 37, ends his cage hiatus early on Sunday morning in the main event of UFC 329 in Las Vegas, which you can watch exclusively live on TNT Sports Box Office .
He’ll be welcomed back to the octagon by fellow former featherweight champion and old foe Max Holloway.

And he’s champing at the bit to prove that he’s still got the desire which saw him rise to the pinnacle of the combat sports world.
He said: “If I didn’t have the fire or the hunger, yet I’m up against one of the most active bodies in the fight game in Max Holloway.
“I just think it’s silly to say this. The challenge is colossal.
“The challenge ahead of me is colossal. I’m entering with supreme confidence.
“It’s magnificent; the fire is in my belly roaring, and it’s about to be released on Saturday night.”
