LET’S be honest, we’d all like to have a flatter tummy, especially when we’re trying to slip into a fancy dress for a special occasion.

But the reality is that most shapewear is either too uncomfortable to wear all day or doesn’t do the job.

Fortunately, M&S has just the buy to see you through any end-of-summer special occasions.

The British supermarket and now fashion go-to has a pair of tummy control pants that suck you in.

While the pants do help flatten everything out, they also are extremely comfortable to wear, according to shoppers.

The Body Define Firm Control No VPL Full Briefs come in two colours, black and beige.

They also come in an inclusive range of sizes going from an 8 to a 24, making them perfect for every body shape.

M&S bosses say: “Enhance your silhouette in these shaping knickers.

“The high-rise style has a comfortable fit whilst our Body Define technology softly defines your curves and creates a 360 degree smoothing effect with no VPL.”

Made with polyamide, the knickers have a good stretch and leave no visible lines so you can feel confident no matter how tight your dress is.

And we haven’t even got to the best part yet.

The incredible undies are currently slashed in price, down from £15 to £12.

Customers seem to agree, with the product receiving an average of 3.8 stars out of five.

One person wrote: “Been buying these in M&S for years, do the trick at pulling my tummy in a bit but still comfortable and no VPL (visible panty line).”

Another commented: “Really comfy and very supportive! Don’t roll down, what more can you ask for!”

“They certainly bring your tummy in and my clothes look better,” penned a third.

How to look chic on a budget

Fashion stylist Gemma Rose Breger, and beauty journalist Samantha Silver revealed how you can make your outfits elevated without spending hundreds of pounds.

  1. Don’t ever spend on designer denim:  River Island  ”always has such a great selection of fashion-forward jeans that follow the current trends”. The high street retailer offers a great range of sizes to fit UK 6 – UK 18, and three leg lengths – and prices start from an affordable £25.
  2. There are no rules for jewels: ”Pick up something at a car boot sale, or  charity shop , scroll on  Vinted  &  eBay , snap up something from the clothing section in your local  supermarket  when doing the  food shop  or check out high street clothing stores.”
  3. Don’t forget the pre-loved sites: With a rising number of second-hand sites, such as Vinted and  Depop , there’s no excuse for not buying – or selling – pre-loved garments. Gemma, for instance, has managed to get her hands on chic Chanel sunnies for a mere £17.

Meanwhile a fourth said: “These pants are great! They hold you in all the right places and they are very comfortable to wear & don’t cut into you.”

“I wear these all the time, they have wonderful support and are comfortable,” claimed a fifth.

Someone else added: “Lovely, comfortable, and makes me look really slim!”
