“But five weeks on and it’s not better so I went for an ultrasound scan last night and it looks like I’ve got another fracture.

Mark continued that he had been impacted by the injuries, and said he could be out of action for the next three months.

He explained: “It’s been a devastating year but that’s what you get, I suppose, for training – doing too much, trying to get down too quick.

“I need to manage my body, but, I don’t know how long, if it’s a deep fracture I could be 12 weeks. Absolutely gutted.”

He captioned the post: “It’s been a tough few months to say the least”.

Mark’s golfing account has around five thousand followers and features short videos of him on the course, including tips and trips for fellow golfers.
