COPS have launched a manhunt after a 19-year-old man was stabbed to death on Valentine’s Day.

The fatal stabbing happened on Rye Lane in Peckham, South London, just after 7pm yesterday, said the Met .

The teenager was transferred to hospital where he was pronounced dead, said cops.

The victim’s next of has been informed and the road remains closed as a murder is launched.

A post-mortem examination will take place in due course, police said.

Supt Gabriel Cameron, from the Met Police, said: “No one should lose their life because of knife .

“This morning, family and friends are waking up without their loved one.

“Our thoughts are with them at this incredibly difficult time.

“We understand the impact a crime like this has on the community and you can expect to see an increased police presence in the area.

“If you are a local resident, please do share any concerns with our officers on the ground.

“In the meantime, our detectives are working meticulously to identify those responsible, and piece together what happened.”

The Met Police urged any witnesses to come forward immediately.

Cops are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who was near to Rye Lane on Saturday, February 14 between 6.30pm and 7.30pm.
