The streaming service has paid a record fee, having previously followed Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.
Amazon paid Tottenham around £10million to chart their 2019-20 season, while Arsenal earned a similar amount in 2022.
Cameras will start rolling during United’s six-game pre-season schedule when they play matches in Helsinki, Norway, Sweden, Dublin and Poland.
A number of platforms have held discussions with United in recent years about the possibility of a behind-the-scenes documentary.
One United source said the club had been “inundated” with offers. United also received a sudden proposal for a documentary during their tour of the United States in 2023.
Former United managers and resisted any attempts by the club to allow a streaming service access.
Carrick, who was appointed permanent head coach only four weeks ago, signed a two-year contract.
Sir agreed to let ITV’s cameras follow him and broadcast team talks towards the end of the 1997-98 season for ‘The Alex Ferguson Story’.

Ferguson was infamously filmed referring to United’s former midfield linchpin as a “f*g big-time Charlie” before he faced them with Liverpool in April 1998.
Former United captain had permission to record a light-hearted home-video style documentary ‘Captain’s Log’, which captured United players celebrating their breakthrough title in 1993 at Bruce’s home.
A second ‘Captain’s Log’ charted United’s run-in to the 1994-95 season when they finished runners-up to Blackburn Rovers on the final day of the Premier League and lost the FA Cup final to Everton. Both editions were released on video by United.
United sources claim the club want to be as open and transparent as possible with their hundreds of millions of fans around the world with the Amazon documentary.
