A MAN on holiday drove almost 200 miles before remembering he had left his wife at a petrol station.
The 62-year-old, from , was through en route to when he stopped to fill up.
But his wife got out to use the toilet without him realising â and the hapless hubby drove off.
His daughter was in the car but she spent the next leg of the journey asleep and did not realise her mum was missing either.
The dad pulled over in a panic several hours later as he approached the Landes region, about 200 miles away from the petrol station near Orléans.
The man had to call the as he could not remember where they had stopped.
A police spokesman said: “We contacted our colleagues in the area who took care of the woman.
“She had already contacted them to say her husband had forgotten her.”;
The man’s bemused wife, 60, had been waiting for hours when they were reunited.
Following a brief investigation into what they called a “highly unusual”; incident, police agreed the man had genuinely forgotten his wife and let the family continue their journey to Morocco.
A similar incident in 2012 saw then-PM leave his daughter, eight, in a pub after she wandered off to the loo at lunch.
