A mammoth crowd on Monday witnessed the defection of the former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
DAILY POST earlier reported that Kwankwaso, the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, officially picked his ADC membership card in Kano on Monday.
The event was witnessed by prominent leaders of the ADC, including National Chairman David Mark, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, ex-National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, and former Anambra and Rivers governors, Peter Obi and Rotimi Amaechi.
The defection comes a day after Kwankwaso announced his resignation from the NNPP.
He cited the need for a strategic political realignment amid the evolving dynamics of Nigeria’s political landscape.
