Makinde directs LG chairmen to provide vehicles for Olubadan

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State said he has directed chairmen of the 11 local government areas in Ibadan to provide a befitting fleet of vehicles for the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin.

DAILY POST reports that the directive is coming 11 months after the coronation of the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland on Friday, 12th July 2024.

Makinde made this declaration while speaking at the grand finale of Ibadan Cultural Week held at Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Oke Ado Ibadan on Saturday.

The event was attended by Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State, Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin who was represented by Oba Rasidi Ladoja, Chairman of the event, Architect Bamidele Samson, Chairman of the Planning Committee, Chief Abiola Alli and President-General of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, Chief Sulaimon Ajewole.

Makinde said that the local government chairmen must provide the vehicles for the traditional ruler before the end of this month.

He said, “They have also been asking why have we not given a vehicle befitting the status of the Olubadan of Ibadanland to him.

“I have sent a message to the 11 local government areas in Ibadanland and I said they must provide a befitting fleet of vehicles for the Olubadan, and they must do it before the end of this month”;;.
