POP’S comeback queen Madonna has made her way back on Radio 1’s playlist again, a decade after it deemed her too old.
The station snubbed her music and said its listeners had “moved on” from the superstar.

But 18 years after she was last on the station’s A List — meaning a song is on high rotation — Madge has got on there, even before it’s released.
She’s no doubt been helped by Gen Z darling , although it’s still an impressive return to form.
It means the new tune from , now 67, will be played alongside tracks by Zara Larsson and on the station, which is aimed at 15 to 29-year-olds.
She’s done the same with Capital Radio, which has also added the song to its A List.

A music insider said: “Madonna has done everything in her power to ensure there’s no denying her this time around.
“The music is fresh and exciting enough to compete with any young star.”
There was outrage in 2015 when decided to shun her single Living For Love, with the station’s head of music George Ergatoudis saying: “The vast majority of people who like Madonna, who like her music now, are over 30 and frankly, we’ve moved on from Madonna.”
Hitting back at the time, the Vogue singer told The Sun: “My manager said to me, ‘If you’re not in your twenties, it’s hard. You might get your record played in your thirties.
“There’s a handful of people who do — Pharrell got lucky. But if you’re in your fifties, you can forget it’.
“Really? Is that how it’s broken down? I’m so stupid. I didn’t know it was anything to do with my age. I just do my work.
“We’ve made so many advances in other areas — civil rights, gay rights — but ageism is still an area that’s taboo and not talked about and dealt with.”
Radio 1 snubbed tracks from her follow-up album, 2019’s Madame X, too.
Even fan , who was the breakfast show host at the time, told Bizarre: “I think Madonna’s one of those pop stars that I wish well and I want her to do really great things, and she’s made so many great records.
“But I personally am not a fan of this new era and it’s made me sad, as a Madonna fan, that I don’t love it as much as I could.”
And her bust-up with Radio 1 isn’t the only one that has been smoothed over.
has spent years slagging her off, once calling her a “vile, hideous human being with no redeeming qualities”.
But having by his former comments and offered an olive branch, she has followed him on Instagram.
I can’t say I would be quite as forgiving.
