LOVE Island star Wes Nelson has revealed to fans online that he is dealing with “serious health issues” after an absence from his socials sparked concern among fans.
The 28-year-old islander posted an emotional video, talking openly about his private struggle over the last few months.

Taking to Instagram, Wes explained to his 1.3 million followers why he had taken a break from social media.
“The past six months have been a lot, I’ve been pretty quiet on here for a while now, and I know some of you have noticed,” he began.
The reality star went on to explain how he has been dealing with some “serious health issues” behind-the-scenes, which have forced him to “really take some time and look after myself, and make some changes in my life.”
He didn’t go into detail on what the health issues actually are, but instead said that he’s been working with some incredible experts, and that this “period hasn’t been wasted.”
“There’s been some serious things going on with my family that I have to be quite present for,” he continued.
“It’s kind of put things into perspective a bit, and honestly, posting on social media has been at the back of my mind.”
Comments of support flooded in for Wes, including ones from his fellow Love Island co-stars.

Other comments of support included TV personality , DJ and radio host Will Manning, as well as ex-Strictly pro who wrote: “Hope you’re good mate.”
In the video, he went on to thank his fans for being there, and that there is new music on the way that he thinks they are going to love.

Wes suffered a horrible injury , sharing footage at the time from an A&E department after a freak ‘football-playing’ accident tore his Achilles.
However, he didn’t state in his recent update that the two health issues are linked.
At the time, the reality star appeared to be embarrassed by the sporting mishap, as he’s seen in a video holding his head in his hand in a waiting room after gaining the injury from a kick about.
Posting to his Instagram followers, he wrote: “Decided to play football for the first time in years… snapped my Achilles.”
