The Lorraine show could face the axe after it was spotted that viewing figures in its timeslot didn’t drop significantly when it was taken off air recently.
Host Kelly sees her contract elapse later this year, around the same time the veteran presenter turns 67.

It comes after it was announced last year that the number of weeks .
A TV insider said: “Not having these shows on air has been something of a test of their popularity and bosses have been closely watching the viewing figures.
and they haven’t suddenly seen the number of viewers drop off.”
In the last week that Lorraine aired on ITV, the show’s peak number of viewers hit an average of 627,000 a day compared to Good Morning Britain’s average of 760,000 viewers that week.
The following week, when Lorraine was off air, GMB’s ratings hardly dipped at all at 717,000 viewers, despite the fact the show had extended into Lorraine’s timeslot.
A spokesperson for ITV said: “As we shared last year, both Lorraine and Loose Women now air seasonally throughout the year, and there are no plans to change this.
“We are incredibly proud of both programmes at ITV and all they continue to achieve — the -nominated Lorraine and the RTS award-winning Loose Women.
“They are a much-loved part of our ITV Daytime family, and we can’t wait to have them both back on screen in the next couple of weeks.”

They’ve formed a news darts team in The Woolpack pub – only it’s populated entirely by women.
The all-female gang has been brought into the soap to reflect a growing, real life trend across villages in Yorkshire.
They include Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick), Mary Goskirk (Louise Jameson), and Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) as well as Claudette Anderson (Flo Wilson).
Producer Sophie Roper explained: “We had heard local darts teams, particularly those made up of women, were springing up across Yorkshire.
“It felt right that the ladies of Emmerdale would mirror this by setting up their own pub darts team. With fewer people heading out mid-week, many rural are finding times tough.
“These teams, much like pub quizzes, are a fantastic way of encouraging people back in to socialise face-to-face. And the Woolpack like other village pubs is a vital rural community hub.”

FORMER and House of Cards star has opened up about his battle with food addiction.
The brainbox and writer was talking on award-winning podcast How Do You Cope?
Richard said: “I embarrass myself when I talk about it and when I think about my behaviour around food”
“It was a huge problem for me and it was a secret.
“It was very very shameful but I think the fact I had this very bizarre relationship with food and I couldn’t do anything about it, and it was so weird meant I had to go and see someone just to deal with that particular issue”
Talking in the podcast, he also discusses what food addiction is, and how gender shapes the way we talk about , especially when it comes to men.
Fair play to Richard for being so honest – it might help others do the same.
