SCRIPTS for the second series of the new Harry Potter TV show are unfinished and yet to be signed off, delaying major scenes being shot.

Filming for has officially started — but Warner Bros sources yesterday confirmed weeks of production delays.

Work that was meant to begin last month has been pushed back until October and insiders told how bosses binned initial scripts because they want the plot and characterisations to be perfect.

executives hit out internally at the delay, which sparked chaos among some irate crew and cast members.

Production crew are not being paid during rewrites, and many workers are struggling to be available for the new schedule due to other work commitments.

A source told The Sun: “Filming for series two was meant to start in August.

“We had dates to start filming, but the scripts have not been finished.

“Everyone at Warner Bros is up in arms.

“The cost implications are huge.

“Filming for major scenes has been postponed for two months until October.

“It has caused a lot of stress for everyone.

“Many staff are stood down from next week.”

Our source went on: “The scripts haven’t been signed off, prompting the delay.

“We’ve been told that a number of scenes need tweaking because they are not quite right.

“The powers-that-be want everything perfect.”

Series one, starring , will premiere on HBO Max on Christmas Day.

Its eight weekly episodes adapt first novel, .
