Desronvil, 48, was the sole juror who y by reason of insanity over the deaths of her three young children.
The deadlock brought the six-week Massachusetts trial to a dramatic end with a mistrial on September 3.
Now Desronvil has spoken publicly for the first time, pushing back against claims from fellow jurors that he appeared to have doubts about Clancy’s guilt but would not change his position.
In a full statement to NewsNation , he said: “I didn’t have any doubts. As I tried to explain different possible theories during deliberation, I kept getting cut off as if I had doubts based on the evidence present.
“Based on all the physical evidence, key witnesses, and what the prosecution presents, I thought it was enough proof that she [Clancy] knew exactly what she was doing and planned.”
Clancy, 36, admitted killing her children – Cora, five, Dawson, three, and eight-month-old Callan – at their Duxbury home in January 2023.
She then attempted to take her own life.
Her defense argued she was not criminally responsible because of her mental state at the time, saying she had been suffering from severe postpartum psychiatric illness while taking a number of prescribed medications.
Prosecutors disputed the insanity defense and argued that Clancy understood what she was doing.
Desronvil has now hired attorney Edward Andrew Paltzik as scrutiny surrounding him intensifies.
TMZ reported Paltzik also represents Warren Hudson, Jax Pitalo and Morgan Seymour – three friends of Nolan Wells – in connection with Wells’ death.
Paltzik previously told TMZ that the three men were “completely innocent” and had nothing to do with Wells’ death.
Announcing his latest client on X , Paltzik called the holdout juror a “courageous and heroic” American and an “American Hero and Champion of Justice.”
He said Desronvil is currently “safe and sound at an undisclosed secure location in a rural area of Northern New England.”
Paltzik also warned that any GoFundMe or GiveSendGo pages claiming to raise money for his client are not authorized.

NBC Boston reported that Desronvil was arrested in 2021 following involving his then-wife.
According to police records cited by the outlet, he was accused of choking her during an argument over their crying baby and throwing her into furniture.
The criminal charges stemming from that alleged incident were later dismissed.
NBC Boston reported that his ex-wife did not testify, with a prosecutor saying in court that she was concerned about the potential impact on child custody.
Separately, Desronvil was accused in 2025 of assaulting his nephew, who had reportedly called police during the 2021 incident.
A restraining order connected to the later family dispute was reportedly still active while Desronvil was serving on the Clancy jury, according to NBC Boston.
The allegations and restraining order have since fueled questions about how he came to sit on the high-profile case, although they do not establish that he was legally barred from serving as a juror.
Desronvil has also faced criticism from the 11 other jurors following the mistrial.

Several reportedly claimed he was difficult to engage during deliberations and questioned whether he properly applied the reasonable doubt standard.
But Desronvil has insisted the evidence convinced him Clancy knew what she was doing.
His brother previously pushed back against speculation that Desronvil’s Catholic faith influenced his position, telling the New York Post : “I don’t think religion had anything to do with it.”
True-crime YouTuber Ray Marcel has meanwhile claimed Desronvil believes his political views played a role in the backlash.
Marcel said, following what he described as an hour-long off-camera interview with Desronvil: “He believes he might be getting targeted because of that, because the media and the reporters, as you would see, they kind of have left views.”
He also claimed Desronvil characterized some fellow jurors as “activists.”
Those claims have not been independently established.
Desronvil’s lawyer has now vowed to defend him against those targeting him publicly.
Paltzik wrote: “Rest assured that the evil people who have so viciously attacked this American Hero and Champion of Justice will be held accountable to the maximum extent of the law and beyond.”
The attorney said his client remained supported by his Catholic faith and asked the public to pray for his safety.
The extraordinary fallout comes after a judge moved to indefinitely block the public release of jurors’ names amid the frenzy surrounding the case.
Desronvil’s identity, however, had already circulated publicly after being revealed online and subsequently reported by media outlets.
Prosecutors must now decide whether to put Clancy through a second trial, with the .
