Lee sent a late night text to wife Katie claiming he had been arrested
He wrote: “Been arrested, I’ll be in touch I’m ok xx.”
Confusingly, then appears to suggest he has NOT been arrested – rather bundled into a van, and taken to an unknown destination.
CID headquarters have now confirmed no-one by Lee’s name has been arrested.
He added: “It’s a black site, I love you, I sort it. I’m in the van… just being detained wtf.”
He added he’d been taken to a mysterious detention facility used to imprison individuals outside of the law by people who also had taken his second phone.
As a , 47, expressed her concern, adding that she loved him, Lee told her to keep tracking his live location, telling her: “Keep that on babe love you”.
Katie has given The Sun these messages in a desperate bid to track down her . This exchange, in the early hours of Thursday morning Dubai time, was their last communication.
The first message was sent at 12.36am and the last one at 01.01, a text which saw him claim he was being “detained”.
A friend said: “Katie has been completely spiralling, as you can imagine.
“This is NOT a publicity stunt – as if she needs any more PR – and no matter what Lee has or hasn’t done, she still loves him.
“These WhatsApps prove that she is as blindsided as the rest of us as to Lee’s movements. She is not in on it, whatever “it” is.
“She wants anyone with information to contact her or the police with information that might help find him.
“She just wants Lee back safe… and then she can start asking him some serious questions.
“But right now, she has done all she possibly can and is simply trying to get on with her life, look after her family, and be as strong as she can.”

In the baffling exchange, Lee also sent her his dad’s number in Dubai as an emergency point of contact.
then asked her to tell Border Patrol that his plan was to meet the worried mum of five in Oman.
Whatever the truth of Lee’s whereabouts, the messages show Katie, who was 7,000km away at her home in East Sussex, is NOT a part of Lee’s madcap scheming.
Today, the frantic mum of five spoke to Hertfordshire police who are investigating Lee over allegations made by a former partner.
She says they told her Interpol were investigating.
Meanwhile, was bombarded with messages from concerned fans yesterday, all offering their love and support.
She was also flooded with DM’s and messages from would-be sleuths claiming they had information on the missing 42-year-old.
Claims that he had crossed the boarder into Oman also seemed wide of the mark, with the Foreign Office stating they have no boarder data for a travelling Brit.
Lee, who reportedly has a preventing him from leaving the country, served time at Dubai’s Al-Awir Prison for alleged financial fraud last October.

She also blasted suggestions she was involved with Lee’s scamming, and denied that this was all part of a plot to get media attention and lucrative, money-spinning deals.
She fumed: “Everyone who is trying to speculate, take the p*ss and make jokes – this isn’t a scandal, it’s something that’s really happening and there are real feelings involved. It could be going on for weeks, months, years, forever.
“This is not a publicity stunt this is real, and anyone who thinks I am a part of it is disgusting.
“I’m really upset and distressed that people think I’m in on it. Are you joking? Come on, give me some credit why would I do that?”
